The late season magnolias are just coming into bloom here at Oak LawnCheese Factory... following are a few examples, some of which have not been seen yet this season, and others that continue to open new blooms... particularly the fabulous Dennis Levina hybrids...

By the advent of hostas, I am referring to the fact that they are just coming from the ground and a few are have unfurled their foliage already... in front of Oak Lawn I have a hosta bed which has been designed around the plants that are yellow or carry a lot of yellow variegation. These are combined with a few blues for an element of contrast... here are some of these plants as seen this morning in the mist that was falling... their color is truly amazing at this stage since they are planted in a considerable amount of sun... Hosta Dawn's Early Light will also add considerable brilliance to this color scheme, but for now it is barely out of the ground...
