Guess what! I don't have to pine for spring any longer... just for spring blooms, which should arrive this week as many hellebores are showing good color in their buds.
After church I cleaned up several garden beds and cut off all the old foliage from the hellebores. Tomorrow I'll feed them... two tablespoons of Osmocote per mature plant... in a normal year this would be done on April 1st but I see no reason to not honor our early spring by doing it now.
I was amazed when I thought to myself... it's seems to be getting darker... it was then that I realized I'd been in the garden for seven hours since just before noon... gardening will do that...
