Since I haven't posted in a bit, I thought I'd pick out a few late August favorites from the gardens to share. Above and below is Angel's Blush hydrangea, sporting 12" blooms because it is in an area where I water regularly. Limelight and Pink Diamond have many blooms but they are small for a lack of moisture with the drought this year, and being beyond where I generally water.

A new gardening friend in Iowa shared this tricyrtus with me... I seem to have misplaced the label but it is certainly and attractive bloom...
Hosta 'Garden Party' is in it's third season from a 4" pot and it makes an excellent specimen...
Calamagrostis 'Karl Foerster' with Pinus densiflora
'Cessarini Variegated'...
By the look of these Jack in the Pulpit seed heads, it's time to spread a few seeds around... I generally rub the red berries between my fingers to release the seeds...
And to close... a bright spot or two in the August gardens here at Oak Lawn...

See ya! Larry
