This (above) is a view of the exceptional color on the stellata magnolias this year, but also the new garden I'm creating as well. I have to tell you that changing and redoing is my favorite garden pastime. I think I've found the path material I want to use which excites me. Tomorrow the tulips arrive and some will go in here as well as more orienpet lilies. I've purchased a Picea orientalis 'Skylands' which I think will go in this garden as well with a possible skirt of prostrate blue conifers. I need to make a trip to my friend's place to pick it up and we'll hit some more conifer nurseries as well... can't wait! We're expecting more rain which is great and I am very thankful about that. It's hard to find the time to be in the gardens as I'm trying to finish up two commissions, one being the 9' magnolia transom which is ready for soldering so I'm headed in the right direction. I also want to enclose the east end of this garden with a substantial stone wall... may not happen for awhile with everything else that is on my plate.
