The magnolia shade over the dining table |
A short while ago I showed photos of a glass magnolia transom that I had designed for a client. Today the transom and a 28" Tiffany Reproduction Magnolia shade were installed in the client's new home. These were wonderful clients to work for as they gave me complete artistic license to do what I felt would work best in this setting.
They were pleased as am I with the results which I share here...
Following are of photos of the transom installation... someone questioned why it isn't symmetrical... it actually is but due to the layout of the walls of the rooms below it, it's impossible to get directly in front to take a picture... all the cabinets and trim work are hickory taken from a local woods.
I am presently in the midst of completing a 16" Dragonfly shade for another client... however, the weatherman just informed us that about ten days of 50 degree sunshine are headed our way! That means more gardening and less glass for awhile. To make certain I don't get bored out there, I picked up 433 bulbs at a 75% off sale this afternoon and the martagons from England are due to arrive tomorrow. That's the beauty of a hobby business... you work when you feel like it! Not that finishing my 46' stone wall and planting bulbs aren't work... they just don't feel like it... then again, neither do my stained glass endeavors...
Take care, Larry
