About fifteen years ago, my wife and I were walking in the woodland at the Missouri Botanical Garden in the spring of the year. There were a few wild flowers about, but the majority of the forest floor was still colored in shades of brown following the winter. As we came along a small stream I saw my first ever grouping of three mature hellebore plants, and I was forever impressed. I didn't start growing hellebores until a few years ago, and the majority of my plants are still reasonably immature. I love taking photos of my hellebore blooms and I now share a great many of those pictures... some taken with great effort lying on the damp soils of the season, trying to capture the interior of the blooms. I hope you enjoy my tribute to this herald of spring...
Take care, Larry
