My interpretation of a tiny mountain glade |
Or perhaps a rock strewn scree in miniature |
If they were to last only a season, a lewisia would be worth the investment as a photographic subject if nothing else |
These are small plants that need a proper position with shoulder room that they might be fully appreciated |
Succulent gardens that are self sustaining miniature garden rooms |
Rock and conifer melded together by fallen snow... in my mind's eye... 'the Alps'? |
Afterall... a garden is where our fantasies can become our realities... at least for awhile |
Contrast is the material of a gardener's designs and and imagination is the force behind them |
Color is a fundamental essence of the joy found in a gardening place |
The very names of the plants installed add to the sensibilities of the garden... as in 'Endless Summer' |
Or a revered family member passed on as in this 'Cora Louise' |
Paths... |
And walls... |
And fences... building blocks upon which the tale is told |
Structures that evoke a time or place as in my interpretation of a half timbered medieval structure adorned with flower boxes... I did say 'use the imagination!' |
The proverbial 'bones' that give each garden room its distinct identity... a place where multiple personalities are not a disorder |
And the never-ending argument... when is something in good taste or poor taste... |
