I was thankful on May 5th, when my little world was full of sweet daffodils |

I was thankful on May 7th when the white of early magnolias in bloom replaced the white of winter's snow |
|
I was thankful on May 10th when the grass of spring was more lush than the finest of carpets |
|
I was thankful on May 12th when the Baltimore Orioles returned to join a chorus of amazing creatures in the bird bath |
|
I was thankful on May 13th when tulips bloomed in every corner of the gardens |
|
I was thankful on May 18th when the rockery was full of glorious blooms |
|
I was thankful on May 19th when thousands of magnolia blooms filled the gardens with spectacular shades of pink, white, and yellow |
|
I was thankful on May 20th, when even the most diminutive blooms displayed colors perfect in their rich saturation |
|
I was thankful on May 22nd, when the entire universe appeared to be focused on my little piece of the world |
|
I was thankful on May 23rd, when even a handful of beautiful Daybreak magnolia blooms could take my mind off of the difficulties plaguing the planet |
|
I was thankful on May 29th when the air was wafting with the sweet scent of flowering crab apples |
Where do I stop posting... the amazements of the gardens go on and on...

For all these things and so many more, I am thankful in this Thanksgiving week, 2011. A life well lived is a gift from God... I have accepted the gift and the untold joys that accompany it. I pray that you too may know the joy of thankfulness as you enter this special time of the year... may God bless you all, Larry |
And can you believe it... it all happens again next season... I'm also thankful for the chance to start over and get it right, both in the gardens and in life... How amazing the grace and mercy showered upon us all if only we accept it. |
