I am continuing with my time line of the 2010 gardens and today I'll be finishing up with May.
For those of you who have been inquiring about group tours, we normally love having visitors all season, but this year there will be a bit of a glitch due to my rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder which will probably be sometime in either late June or July. I have several groups scheduled for May already and we would welcome any who wish to visit as individuals or as a group during that time. July is generally a special time here in the gardens and if you wish to stop by during that time, you are certainly welcome as long as you understand that the gardens may not be as well "kept" as usual because of my surgery. We will not, however, be planning any group tours after mid-summer depending on how long I can hold off on the surgery.
To continue with my log I return to May 20th of last year. Tree peonies were actually in bloom which is quite a bit earlier than normal...
... bearded German iris...
... Flowering dogwoods such as Samaritan pictured here...
... and a host of other perennials, flowering shrubs, and trees... and lots of fun things in their first year in the new rockery. All for today, Larry
