I continue with my posts on all things 2010 garden related with another project finished in June, that being the new walk and stairs through the rockery... the first order of business was to create the stairs...
That was followed with creating a flagstone path between the two sections of the rockery...
June 3rd found the rare Tinka Philips herbaceous peony in full bloom along with many other peonies, both herbaceous and intersectional...
Perennials abound in early June... here is Persicaria polymorpha...
2010 was the last season for my William Baffin shrub roses... I removed them due to the difficulties I experienced with fungal leaf diseases and by virtue of the fact that they spread about at an alarming rate, eating up precious space....
June is always the month of Siberian irises so here are a few from the 2010 gardens...
And let's not forget the spuria iris which also bloom in June...
Among the June perennials is goatsbeard, pictured here on the 7th of June near the gazebo...
I love the borrowed views of the dairy barns with what were our William Baffin roses. as noted earlier this post, now removed/deceased/kaput...
June is also the season of biennial sweet williams in the gardens...
Numerous clematis come into bloom in June, including Henryi pictured here...
The Japanese tree lilac scents the gardens in mid-June...
By the 20th of June the arbor was surrounded and festooned with color...

Of course many other plants came into bloom by the end of June as the song says "June is bustin' out all over", but this will do for now. I'm sad to say that the delphiniums have probably all bit the dust over this winter... I will replace them however, as I really like their look by the arbor. That does it for this post... see you next week! Larry
