It always a harrowing experience the first time you see a new shade with light...especially after all the hours spent working and creating the piece. The following shade is far from complete as I will install six reinforcement wires and only one got completed today... it's quite a reach with my damaged rotator cuff so I can only do a little at a time. After the interior soldering is completed, there will be the task of cleaning up the shade prior to applying patina... I'm not crazy about the clean-up, but it's a necessary evil I'm afraid.
Speaking of magnolias... a couple warm days and we'll be surrounded by their bloom. With close to freezing temps forecast tonight, we may have some browning of bud tips since we generally go lower than what is forecast... Larry
