We really are in the midst of gloomy weather, but on the positive side, daffodils are almost at peak in the gardens at Oak Lawn. I don't have a lot of info to share when it comes to gardening these days as I've covered much of that over the course of the past couple years. That said, I'll simply share several photos and I'll label anything that is new to the gardens with first blooms this season. This Saturday is the local high school prom and the young folks will be coming here for photos... I'm hoping the sun will shine a bit and temps rise. We are experiencing 40's today with middle 20's being forecast overnight tonight... that will cause some brown spots on the "just beginning to open" magnolias, but we've experienced this many times in the past.
There are a number of hyacinths in bloom, but I thought these pink toned ones were rather photogenic...
Here's some of those yellow daffodils I referred to earlier... as their season moves on, the color palette and forms widen as well...
Of course I can't resist posting a few hellebore photos... I even ran across several plants the blooms of which I haven't shared previously this season...
I'll close with a few primula... the blue drumstick Primula denticulata is a first timer for me this season although the plant was installed over a year ago...
